i have a small wager on S Africa +240 (posted that price on an exchange and it was matched). do I have any chance. what does this scoreboard tell me? who is winning? how much time or wickets or whatever is left?

is my play OK or in bad shape? is it raining is that the delay?

It's a five day test taking place in Port Of Spain, Trinidad, with hometown hero Brian Lara almost going "ton" on the South Africans with 196 in the first innings. Although Graeme SMith is having a strong innings, losing Jacques Kallis to an LBW call certainly didn't help. Nor does the fact that the pitch seems to be eating up balls, leaving SA to slog about in their third day. I'd say that the Windies will win or the test will be a draw. Just can't see SA coming back given the circumstances. I for one was happy to see Lara come to life at Queens Park Oval.

A test match can draw if the second innings are not complete. Smith got some good support from his teammates after the dismissal of Kallis. The first innings just concluded right before lunch today, the fourth day. I think the draw will be the easy winner unless one team goes on a major wicket spree.

Additionally, a run is a run. An over is a series of 6 deliveries (pitches) from one end of the pitch (field)

Well I mushed the Windies with Lara being quickly sent down and Chanderpaul going lbw. Sarwan and Bravo have to carry the squad as they're only up about 120 going into the final day. Certainly not a day that Lara was looking for coming off of his 196 in the first innings.

LBW is leg before wicket. You can have the ball hit you in your leg pads, but if the umpire deems them to be blocking the wicket and the ball having a path to the stumps, then he can declare an LBW. That is what happened with Chanderpaul. He and Lara both had horrid 2nd innings as did the rest of the Windies side.

You now have a VERY good chance of cashing the wager. The South Africans are at 45 runs for 0 outs at lunch. They only need 99 after the break to win the Test.

Keep in mind that others may be reading as well that could know what I mean and would like to join in the discussion.

Do you know if your wager was for the Test or the Test series? If it's just this test, I'd say you're looking good. If it's the Test series, you're still in good shape as they drew the first Test in Guyana.

Hopefully it's just this Test. If so, start counting the money. Unless the South Africans completly fall apart, which is doesn't look like they're doing after lunch, they will win the Test. A truly embarassing performance in the 2nd innings and an equally embarassing turnout in Port Of Spain.

Next time you can bet what's called an ODI (One Day International) and it would be over in one day (obviously), instead of a five day test. ODIs are MUCH more fun to watch than Tests, but I guess it's what you're in the mood for at the time...
